The Supreme Court on Friday affirmed Rufai Hanga as senator-elect for Kano Central senatorial district on the platform of NNPP.
“The missions also know politicians who use stolen public funds to block access for citizens.”
It comes as Rabiu Kwankwaso and other NNPP leaders said talks have intensified to form an alliance with Peter Obi of the Labour Party ahead of the 2023 presidential elections.
Mr Kwankwaso has attracted Ibrahim Shekarau and other Kano bigwigs to the party, driving claims he might positioning the party as the country’s viable third force next year.
Ibrahim Shekarau, former Kano governor and education minister, has emerged as the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) candidate for the Kano Central senatorial seat.
Mr Shekarau also alleged that APC congresses in Kano were not conducted in line with the stipulated guidelines.
A faction of the APC loyal to former Kano State governor Shekarau had been in a leadership battle with the Ganduje’s group.
The engagement was in furtherance of efforts by Mr Buhari to ensure a rancour free and successful National Convention of the party.
APC supporters should disregard the utterances of Malami and Shekarau and remain united in support of APC leader, Senator Aliyu Wamakko…”
”Kani State is 100 per cent APC. I am appealing to Shakarau’s faction because we are members of one family: the APC.”
