The governor explained that 17 persons were initially abducted, but two escaped separately.
Ms Udeme said the victims were not UTME candidates as widely circulated in the media.
Mr Emenari, however, said one of the victims eventually escaped from the kidnappers.
Mr Emenari assured residents of the command’s readiness to maintain law and order before, during, and after the Easter festivities.

Ms Udeme said the farmers were reportedly working on their farms when the assailants attacked them.

Ms Edet said eight suspects were arrested during the operation.
