IITA has called on the federal government to prioritise policies that will support the development of Nigeria’s seed yam value chain.
He said that the infrastructure would have a positive impact on breeders.
Beatrice Aighewi, head of station, IITA Abuja, said this on the sidelines of the launch of the Nigerian Farmers’ Soil Health Scheme.
Diebiru-Ojo, a scientist, adopted the Semi-Autotrophic Hydroponics technology.
“This is the future of Nigeria. It is a great example where people are being trained in high-tech agriculture.”
The training is in collaboration with Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association, their sister agencies, ICRISAF and USAID.
