Mr Jonathan lost the 2015 presidential election to former president Muhammadu Buhari.
He urged citizens to draw strength from faith, hope, and unity amid ongoing national challenges.
The former president described Mr Ewhrudjakpo as a devoted public servant.
Ikechukwu Eze, special adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan, in a statement in Abuja, said the dialogue would also attract global development experts.
According to him, Mr Jonathan becomes the third person and the first African leader to win this category of the award.
The royal father said that the late Okupe played pivotal roles in shaping Nigeria’s political discourse and public service.
Mr Jonathan, upon arrival in Ghana, urged Ghanaians to be patriotic and work for peaceful, free and transparent elections.
According to him, since 1960, Nigeria has come a long way.
“I urge all electorate and politicians to avoid violence and conduct themselves in a peaceful and lawful manner.”
According to him, democracy will serve the people better if African leaders at all levels respect the laws of their nations.
