The judge further stated that the convict’s action must have caused immeasurable harm to the child.
“The convict’s allegation of having an amorous relationship with the mother of the victim in her shop does not hold water.’’
Mr Moshood was sentenced to 14 years’ imprisonment by Justice Rahman Oshodi following his plea bargain agreement to attempted sexual assault by penetration.
Mr Oshodi said he was satisfied with the survivor’s testimony that the defendant had sexual intercourse with her.
The girl told the court Mr Tasie did not rape her as they were in a romantic relationship and had consensual sex.
Justice Rahman Oshodi, in his judgment, held that Mr Wasiu defiled the survivor in a “beastly” manner.
He said the convict betrayed the trust the survivor’s father had for him, as they had been friends for over 20 years.
The judge ordered that the sentencing should run concurrently and the convict’s name put in the Lagos State sexual offences register.
