The committee’s chairman, Ikenga Ugochinyere, made the call on Thursday in Abuja during a courtesy visit to IGP Kayode Egbetokun.
“From day one, we started with PDP until this afternoon, we are still in court,” Ikenga Ugochinyere said.
“In spite of formal notifications, over 100 police personnel were sent from Owerri to block the venue. They have started again,” Mr Ugochinyere said.
They N4 trillion debt is allegedly for federal government projects executed in 2024.
Although the lawmaker commended the governments’ progress in controlling the Umuchima erosion menace, he said that bigger erosion challenges had emerged in other areas.
The case, which was filed on Thursday, has not been assigned to a judge.

The bill sought the introduction of a six-year single term for the president, governors and local government chairmen.
The proposed legislation is also designed to ensure constant rotation of the presidency between the North and South regions of the country.
The coalition made the pledge in a statement on Monday by its spokesperson, Ikenga Ugochinyere (PDP-Imo).
