The Nigerian Navy dismantled an illegally reconstructed refining cluster along the Rivers–Bayelsa border, recovering about 8,500 litres of suspected petroleum products.
Two large-scale illegal operations were dismantled on July 22 and 23 in the Biseni Community, Bayelsa, with over 450,000 liters of crude oil recovered.
She explained that large quantities of crude oil allegedly tapped from a vandalised nearby pipeline were uncovered.
He said the troops recovered 1.01 million litres of stolen crude oil, 299,169 litres of illegally refined AGO and 3,158 litres of DPK.
The illegal refineries were destroyed by operatives of the anti-vandal unit of the command, codenamed ‘Operation Sting’.
