Mr Russell ruled that the indefinite hold on the immigration applications was unlawful.
“From January 2026, migrants will be required to pass tough new English language requirements so they can contribute fully to our national life,” said the UK government.

Kemi Badenoch, leader of the UK Conservative Party, said on Wednesday that Britain is stagnating while other countries are moving forward.
“For $5 million, this could be yours,” he said on Thursday while on board the presidential aircraft Air Force One.
