INEC has released the final list of 17 candidates for the council elections in Abuja scheduled for 2026.
Mr Olumekun stated that the division would enable the commission to better coordinate and maximise existing technology investments through centralised AI governance.
INEC on Tuesday faulted the recall process of Mrs Akpoti-Uduaghan, pointing out that the petitioners failed to provide their contact details.

“These prohibitions, including sanctions, are provided for in Section 96 of the Electoral Act 2022,” he said.
Mr Olumekun said that the decision was taken by the commission at its Tuesday regular meeting.
Meanwhile, four INEC directors have been directed to proceed on terminal leave.
“The attention of INEC has been drawn to some media reports alleging that it tampered with the accredited figures of voters.’’
The commission said the recognition of the Youth Party was in obedience to a Supreme Court judgment.
For this reason, voters and stakeholders agreed that the elections should be rescheduled.
