The honours were bestowed on the states at the closing of NCCIDE’s 13th Regular Meeting in Jos on Friday.
The Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, says Nigeria’s new $2 billion broadband project will significantly boost the country’s GDP growth.
Mr Maida noted that the park would also accelerate development of Nigeria’s digital economy.
He commended participants for exhibiting innovation.
The lawmaker further said that fibre-optic internet services remained unaffordable for the average young Nigerian.
Mr Sani stated that the ministry’s aim was to ensure every Nigerian could access technical training,
He noted that the secretariat had developed a legal framework to help eliminate and reduce such barriers.
The minister said that the federal government would no longer leave investments in infrastructure in the sector to private companies alone.
Mr Tijani said this on Friday in Abuja. He said a fibre optic network was being laid across the country.
Mr Tijani added that the digitisation will empower local entrepreneurs and businesses while promoting inclusive development in the country.
