Lawmakers are investigating employment racketeering in federal ministries, departments and agencies.
“If she wants to collect 10 per cent of employment from any chief executive officer of MDAs, she will insist that such chief executive must meet such person one on one.”
Mr Ogundipe said the strike would be for three weeks, hopefully, depending on when the issue would be resolved.
“Some of the affected staff cutting across many universities have been alleged to bribe IPPIS officials for the purpose of getting captured on the platform.”
The lawmaker underscored the importance of managing the process of recruitment and payment of civil servants and public officers.
“If we accept what ASUU is saying, it will create room for everyone to be asking for their own payment platform; the military is on IPPIS and health workers.”
Emmanuel Osodeke, ASUU president, who stated this on Tuesday, revealed that the universities lecturers have not been paid by the federal government since February that the strike began.
Minister Mamora said, “house officers are undergoing training; they are not full fledged doctors. They are not and should not go on strike.”
The federal government says it has suspended the salaries of 331 civil servants for failing to update their Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS).
Resident doctors began a nationwide strike on April 1 to demand improved welfare packages.
