The U.S. Department of State has mandated that Nigerians seeking a B1 or B2 visa post a bond of between $5,000 and $15,000.
Mr Shettima delivered Mr Tinubu’s national statement at the meeting.
The assembly, which is scheduled to begin on Monday, is expected to conclude on September 28.
The bond will go into effect on August 20.
