The commissioner restated the state government’s commitment to the health and well-being of residents.
He said the corps would continue to educate the parents and implement measures to reduce the rate of accidents usually recorded during the festive period.
The corps marshal commended the defence chief for his leadership qualities and the successes achieved in national security.
“Journalists do not have weekends, public holidays or festive seasons.
The chairman urged stakeholders and donor agencies to assist sickle cell patients with food and medications.
“They are still strong, capable and ready. We need them to contribute so much to the nation,” the defence chief added.
“Without press freedom, we won’t have any freedom,” he said. “A free press is not a choice, but a necessity.”
Mr Nwifuru made the pledge during a church service at the Government House Chapel.
“There are opportunities for every passionate and talented youth out there in the industry.”
Mr Adeleye said the suspects were arrested where robbery and kidnapping usually occurred in the LG.
