Justice Emeka Nwite, in a ruling, held that the offences with which the defendants are charged threaten national security and public safety.
The Abuja Division of the Federal High Court, on Friday, fixed January 7 for a ruling on the bail applications filed by Abubakar Malami.
The judge then ordered Mr Adamu’s remand, pending the ruling on his bail application, which was argued the same day.
The EFCC’s counsel said a counter affidavit was filed to oppose the application for bail.
Justice Nwite held that the application was meritorious and accordingly granted.
Former justice minister Abubakar Malami pleaded not guilty to money laundering charges on Tuesday.
Justice Nwite, in the judgment, found Isma’il guilty of the offences charged.
The Federal High Court will commence its Christmas vacation on December 19.
Justice Nwite upheld the argument of the defence that the suit was statute-barred.
Mr Pinheiro said the certificate of identification might be different, the substantive documents attached to it were the same.
