Asue Ighodalo, gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2024 election, has reacted to the Supreme Court’s judgment, affirming Monday Okpebholo as the winner of the election,
Justice Garba Lawal, who delivered the judgment, dismissed the appeal for want of merit.
Mr Uche insisted that Mr Sylva’s appeal was bad beyond redemption as no witness or documents supported his request at the court.
In a ruling, Justice Lawal reserved judgment to a date that will be communicated to the parties.
The governors failed and refused to put in place a democratically elected local government system.
The apex court upheld a much earlier ruling by the Appeal Court in Calabar that the selection process of the Obong was marred with irregularities.
