At the resumed hearing in the case, counsel for Mr Yero, Adeola Adedipe SAN, apologised to the court for his client’s absence and accepted responsibility for it.
The police arraigned the convict on July 21, 2023, for rape.
Justice Oriji noted that one significant outcome of the case was the improvement of the school’s sickbay following the incident.
The judge granted the leave after hearing a motion filed through Mr Ishaku’s counsel, Paul Ogbole, SAN.
The duo pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Mr Oriji further ordered that the respondents should be served with the hearing notice before the next adjourned date.
Isaiah Yusuf, who testified as the EFCC’s fourth witness (PW4), said this in his testimony on the alleged N2.7 billion against Mr Sirika and three others.
According to the EFCC, the offence was committed in Abuja between August 2022 and May 2023.
Mr Sirika was accused of conspiring to award airport contracts to his daughter and allies during his days as aviation minister in violation of federal procurement statutes.
