The Kano government has given contractors eight eight-month ultimatum to fix the water scarcity plaguing the metropolis.
Mr Kubarachi said the operation led to the evacuation of more than 200 mentally challenged persons currently in the custody of SEMA.
Some of the residents, who spoke in separate interviews with journalists, said the trend exposed them to difficulties in accessing the product.

Hoodlums armed with various weapons took to the streets in parts of the Kano metropolis, attacking shops and offices and looting property.
Youths suspected to be part of the #EndHunger protest have set ablaze the Kano’s multimillion-naira Nigerian Communications Commission office complex.
The outgoing police commissioner, AIG Usaini Gumel disclosed this in a telephone interview on Thursday in Kano.
The police advised the suspects to report to the station or be arrested and dealt with.
“Prices of foodstuff are on the high side now, and salaries have not changed,” she said.
