Ms Umar said the sensitisation aligned with the federal government’s Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
He noted that the flood destroyed 6,583 houses while 38,814 persons were affected.
“I cannot give you the exact number of persons or houses affected until after we finish our reports,” he said.
Items distributed includes maize, rice, millet, guinea corn, noodles, beans, tomato paste, seasoning cubes, vegetable oil, cement, nails, roofing sheets and ceiling boards.
The Kano SEMA boss advised those living close to rivers and ponds to vacate the area for one to two months.
