The Katsina government, in collaboration with UNICEF, commemorated the International Day of Play in Mashi LGA on Thursday.
The Katsina government has confirmed the killing of 18 people during an encounter between members of a vigilante group and ‘repentant bandits’ in Jibia LGA.
The exercise was carried out at the Old Market Eye Hospital in Katsina from February 7 to 11, 2026.
Deputy Governor Faruk Lawal-Jobe said the project was among 26 interventions under the Conflict Mitigation and Community Reconstruction framework, launched in 2025.
The Katsina administration said Governor Dikko Radda undertook road dualisation projects to ensure the free flow of traffic across major areas in the city.
The workshop for government officials, experts and other stakeholders was to strengthen data systems and enhance social protection planning.
Mr Radda said, “I am happy to hear that as of today, you have bought 33 additional buses with your IGR.”
The training, anchored on the Learning Lab Approach, is simultaneously taking place in Funtua, Malumfashi and Kankia LGAs.
The Katsina government plans to increase its internally generated revenue to N140 billion by 2026.
