“The kidnappers, who were caught unawares, would not give up easily as they engaged the police officers in a shootout,” said the Lagos police spokesman.
Existing laws governing organ transplants in Nigeria still need to be expanded in depth.
“The team tracked the bandits from Yakasai to Awai village, where they found the victims in a hut, unharmed,” the police spokesman said.
The CP said the intervention of the police command secured the state’s historic site.
The army spokesperson said the troops swiftly mobilised to the scene of the kidnap incident after a distress call.
One of the victims, who craved anonymity, told journalists that kidnappers threw them into snake-infested spots.
The kidnappers requested a ransom of $3,000 and N200,000, or they would kill the boy.

Parents of kidnapped Ekiti pupils said fried rice, black bullets, energy drinks, milk and N15 million were offered to secure the release of their children.
“Parents must also warn their wards seriously against being used particularly for kidnapping either as kidnappers or informants.”
