Amina El-Imam, Kwara Commissioner for Health, said the training aimed to build the capacity of the members’ efforts to reduce maternal mortality rates.
Ms El-Imam emphasised the importance of breastfeeding and described it as the foundation of lifelong health and well-being for a child.
The commissioner noted that the safe birth kits enhance hygienic practices during delivery.
State health officials said immunisation was the best way to protect children against diarrhoea caused by Rotavirus.
“The programme will include free medical treatment, free minor surgeries, free eye surgeries and reading glasses for indigent members of the public.”
