The agency also plans to have electric boats and expand cargo operations across Lekki, Apapa, Ikorodu, Epe and Badagry.
The managing director said that the administration of Mr Sanwo-Olu had proven to be committed to water transport sustainability.
The LASWA’s general manager, Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, confirmed this in a statement on Thursday.
Mr Balogun said the revenue contribution, which stood at 0.8 per cent in 2021, rose to 0.11 per cent in August 2024.
“We need to adequately utilise the assets we have to generate the revenue needed in the state,” he said.
“We are exposing the Lagos waterways to what we can do when it comes to hospitality.’’
Mr Sanwo-Olu said plans had been concluded with various stakeholders to distribute food items to vulnerable people in the State.
He said the currency exchange and the lingering fuel situation had, no doubt, raised the tension in the land.
