Mrs Adenike said that the building collapsed on Friday at about 8.30 p.m. at No 333 Borno St, Alagomeji, Yaba, trapping several persons.
Mr Oke-Osanyintolu said the incident occurred during the decking phase of the construction.
Mr Oke-Osanyintolu praised the ministry of environment for its proactive efforts in clearing drainages.
“On arrival at the scene, it was discovered that a storey building under construction self-collapsed at the aforementioned location,” Mr Oke-Osanyintolu said.
The agency’s permanent secretary, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said no fewer than six people were seriously injured.
He said LASEMA did not record any case under the marine, train, or air crash category in December 2024.
He said the incident scene had been secured.
LASTMA’s general manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, said the accident occurred on Third Mainland Bridge near Ilaje, heading towards Iyana Oworonsoki.
“Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were recorded at the incident scene,” he said.
The agency’s permanent secretary, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, who confirmed this in a statement on Friday, said the accident resulted from brake failure.
