Hezbollah harshly criticised the Lebanese government’s decision on Wednesday to task the army with preparing a plan to disarm the pro-Iranian movement
One peacekeeper was assaulted though no injuries were reported.
“The Lebanese Army is to cooperate with peacekeepers from the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) to complete the mission,” it said in a post on X.
There have been daily military confrontations between the Israeli army and the Hezbollah militia in Lebanon and other groups in the border area between the countries.
The aid comes amid the ongoing Israel-Palestinian conflict and the escalating tension between Lebanon and Israel along the border.
