According to the Ebonyi police spokesperson, one policeman was seriously injured in the attack that comprised 35 gunmen.
The police command in Ebonyi has warned the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) against forcing South-East residents to sit at home.

“Members of the proscribed IPOB were intercepting motorcycles, molesting, threatening and shooting sporadically into the air to scare people.”
One AK47 rifle, GSM phone and jackknife were recovered from the dead gunman while others escaped with bullet wounds.
The spokesperson advised residents to avoid illegal businesses using religion otherwise they risk arrest.
“Hoodlums in the early hours of Tuesday wielding dangerous weapons stormed the federal high court premises and burnt part of the building.
Violence erupted Tuesday between Ezilo and Iyionu communities in the Ohaukwu local government area of Ebonyi, the police have said.
The victims were rescued from their abductors in the same community. The abductors fled on sighting the police, a spokesperson said.
