“For African economies, the consequences are immediate,” he said.
Mr Youssouf stated, “The AUC pays tribute to the millions of African men, women and children who were forcibly uprooted and subjected to inhumane suffering.”
Mr Youssouf appealed to the warring countries to adopt dialogue and abide by international law and the United Nations Charter.
Mr Youssouf stressed the need for effective implementation of the agreements reached during the meeting.

The leaders also resolved to curb terrorism and other forms of insecurity threatening the region.
“Africa must no longer be an afterthought in global geopolitics. Let us reaffirm our shared values,” said Mr Youssouf.
Mr Youssouf stated, “We noted complex challenges in some situations and stressed the importance of sustained African Union engagement.’’
The European Union has congratulated Angola’s President João Lourenço on his election as the new chairperson of the African Union.
