The prosecutor said three GPMG ammunition and two expended cartridges were recovered from the defendants at the time of their arrest.
The suspected murderer is a member of the Viking Confraternity, according to one of the deceased’s relatives.
The prosecutor said the security team overpowered the kidnappers, rescued the kidnapped victims and arrested the suspects while some fled.
“The invaders were known to be members of the Viking Confraternity cult group that had been terrorising Efeyi and its environs,” Mr Uletu said.
The Makurdi Chief Magistrates’ Court, on Wednesday, ordered the remand of a 20-year-old herdsman, Isah Ardoo, at Makurdi Prison custody for murder.
They were charged with criminal conspiracy, trespass, culpable homicide and illegal possession of firearms.
The suspects had lodged in a guest inn where they were, following a tip off, arrested by the police with the fresh female head.
