She said the intervention would cover all six area councils of the FCT and target 1.02 million eligible children aged between three and 59 months.
Ms Ogbulafor said the interventions had significantly contributed to reducing malaria prevalence and under-five mortality rates across the country.
The programme is targeting no fewer than 1.1 million children.
He said that the intervention was part of the state government’s efforts to eradicate malaria by 2030.
According to him, the MNCHW is aimed at reducing morbidity and mortality rates in mothers and children under five years old in Nigeria.
Babatunde Salako, NIMR director-general, disclosed this at the SARMAAN engagement meeting.
“The drugs will be distributed every month for a period of five months, from the month of June to October,” she said.
“Distribution will be carried out monthly for four days each month. The drugs will be repeated every 28 days from June to October 2023.
A total of 3,850,316 insecticide-treated nets were distributed to residents of the state between August 7 and August 21.
“As a government, we are not happy with the low percentage of people who, after collecting the nets, had yet to commence sleeping inside them.”
