The Nigerian equities market extended its bearish trend on Thursday, marking the fourth consecutive session of losses as investors’ wealth declined by N580 billion.
The All-Share Index (ASI) closed lower by 3.4 points or 0.01 per cent to settle at 47,656.64 points compared with 47,660.04 recorded on Wednesday.
The All-Share Index (ASI), which opened at 51,949.64 rose by 641.77 points.
The negative performance was driven by price depreciation in large and medium capitalised stocks.
The market capitalisation increased by N97 billion to close at N28.625 trillion in contrast with N28.528 trillion achieved on Thursday.
