Mr Shettima said the fund was earmarked to support 100,000 start-ups and Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) at single digit interest rates.
The SMEDAN boss also noted that the MSMEs had made an encouraging contribution to the country’s Gross Domestic Product of 46.31 per cent, saying that more needed to be done.
This has complicated the business climate and deepened the challenges facing small-scale businesses.
According to the minister, the programme under the Nigeria Economic Sustainability Plan (NESP) has disbursed the amount directly to the beneficiaries.
“The registration is seamless that you can just go into the website www.smedanregister.com and you will be able to register.”
The project delivery office says “under no track of the scheme are beneficiaries given the sum of N80,000, either in instalments or in whole.”
Mr. Dadingelma said the bottles of sanitiser would soon be destroyed by the agency.
