The Katsina government said that the break was to enable the students to enjoy the Eid-el Kabir Muslim festival with their families.

He told newsmen that government had stepped up supervision of schools and any student found culpable would be punished accordingly.
More than 59,000 Nigerian students arrived in 2022 with about 61,000 family members.
Three of the evacuees, who sustained injuries, were moved to the hospital.
The examinations earlier fixed for March were postponed due to the clash with the 2023 State House of Assembly election.
Mr Lawal said that the Commissioner for Education, Folashade Adefisayo, had reassured the public that the matter would be dealt with within the scope of the ministry’s strict regulations.
