The agreement between the government and labour was signed following a series of meetings that started on Thursday.

He said the decision for the warning strike was arrived at following the meeting of various organs of organised labour in the state on Tuesday.
Labour unions in Cross River are still negotiating the new minimum wage with the state government.
Meanwhile, the Cross River government said it was yet to take any position on implementing the new minimum wage.
“Payment of gratuities to state retirees from April 2014 and local government workers from 2012 is still pending.”
“The strike is justifiable but ASUU should also know that negotiations are always a win-win situation and not winner takes all.”
The federal government approved N30,000 as minimum wage for workers in 2019.
Workers in the state on October 12 embarked on an indefinite strike over non-payment of gratuities to retired civil servants from 2014 to date, among other issues.
Labour unions will shut down activities of the government in the entire state if the NLC chairman is not quickly released unharmed.
