The commission said the respective fines “represent 10 per cent of the overbilled amount.”
He added that as a result of the non-payment of subsidy, gas supply and power generation had continued to dip.
An electricity market analyst acknowledged the inevitability of the tariff increase, attributing it to fluctuations in the dollar and gas prices.
KAEDC is one of the five Electricity Distribution Companies taken over by their funders.
The chairman said the last tariff review was approved on December 31, 2021, and became effective in February 2022.
