The statement quoted the Sultan as praying for Allah’s guidance and blessings upon all the Muslims as they fulfill their religious obligations
The call was made by the ‘amir of the Companions, Ilorin District, Ismail Okunlola, in a statement on Friday in Ilorin.
The emir stressed that religious differences should not be a source of conflict.
“May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad. May Allah continue to guide and protect us,” Mr Mohammed said.
Governor Nasir Idris has declared Monday a public holiday to mark the beginning of the new Islamic calendar, the first Muharram 1446AH.
The minister urged Muslims to continue praying for peace and President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
The festive season is a time for Nigerians to renew their hope as a people.
He stated this while addressing the pilgrims shortly after the Subhi (dawn) prayer on Sunday in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
“We have seen situations where a fraudster visits worship centres to testify to the blessings of God after a breakthrough in fraud,” Mr Olukoyede said.
“It is imperative that we stand united in safeguarding the sovereignty and integrity of our nation,” said former President Muhammadu Buhari.
