He said the workshop would enhance participants’ skills and knowledge in managing critical information during times of disaster
Mr Farinloye said NEMA was working with appropriate state MDAs to ameliorate the effect of the flood on residents.
“No one should tamper with government facilities, especially vandalism of oil pipelines,” he said.
Ms Aligwe applauded NEMA and the state governor for always responding to the needs of disaster victims at all times.
He also warned hoodlums who might want to take advantage of the incident to carry out any form of looting to desist.
The DG stated that the management of disasters is currently anchored on preparedness, mitigation, risk reduction and adaptation.
He said that disasters had continually taken a toll on the citizens yearly, resulting in loss of lives and means of livelihoods.
The relief materials, worth millions of naira, include food items, livelihood support tools, and seedlings, among others.
The affected states are Adamawa, Taraba, Benue, Nasarawa, Kogi, Anambra, Edo, Delta and Bayelsa.
Some of the items included rice, beans, blankets, mats, sewing machines, grinding machines, water pumps for dry-season farmers, sprayers, fertilisers, and seedlings.
