Many shops at the market were destroyed by fire on July 27, when a fuel tanker lost control, fell and caught fire in front of the market
He said that the affected local government areas are Umuahia North, Ikwuano, Arochukwu, Ohafia and Bende.
He said the gesture was under the special national economic and livelihood emergency intervention to bring succour to the victims.
According to Mr Muhammad, the interventions will be implemented by NEMA in conjunction with the Bauchi state emergency management agency.
The relief materials included rice, beans, garri, insecticide-treated nets, blankets and mats.
Meanwhile, the responders said they would provide further information on the incident.
The governor said Mr Shettima directed NEMA to release the grains immediately, adding that states would be involved in the mechanism.
She said that the agency would continue to sensitise Nigerians on flood disasters and appealed to the people to heed the warnings so as to save lives and property.
The NEMA official added that prevention is, however, the best form of remedy for disasters worldwide.
Mr Kalu expressed gratitude to the agency “for all the assistance it has rendered to the state”.
