The Katsina government has approved a ₦3.8 billion loan facility to secure 3,890 hajj slots for intending pilgrims from the state for the 2026 pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
The scheme, a collaboration between the NAHCON and non-interest banks, particularly Jaiz Bank, allows intending pilgrims to save over time in a Sharia-compliant manner.
Mr Riyau said that provision of decent meals for the pilgrims would also enhance their experiences.
The Yobe Hajj Commission has set January 31 as the deadline for all intending pilgrims to pay the 2025 Hajj fare fully.
He said that a committee had been inaugurated to ensure a hitch-free refund exercise.
Mr Keyamo urged intending pilgrims for the 2024 hajj to be law-abiding citizens.
“The bar has been raised and the expectation is high.’’
The lawmakers expressed concern about the N5 million amount fixed for the 2024 Hajj.
He assured that the board had completed all necessary arrangements for the 2024 Hajj in Kano and Saudi Arabia.
The President charged the appointees to consider their appointment as an opportunity to serve the nation.
