NIMC, in partnership with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, has commenced a nationwide data protection certification training for its staff.
NIMC has alerted Nigerians to a fraudulent social media post promoting a purported free portal for correcting National Identification Number records.
He warned them to beware of fraudsters.
The exercise will be conducted at designated centres across the 36 states and FCT.Â
Mr Sanwo-Olu spoke at the State House, Marina, while hosting members of the Joint Revenue Board for its 159th meeting, which started on Monday.
The National Population Commission has said it registered over 36,000 births in Kano in nine months of deploying its electronic birth registration system.
The corps marshal emphasised the urgent need for robust data harmonisation among government institutions to improve efficiency and national security.
He said the programme aims to combat child hunger and improve educational outcomes across the country.
“As the digital transformation of governmental operations is gaining momentum worldwide, Nigeria should not be an exception,” he said.
Mrs Okonjo-Iweala stressed the need for investments in infrastructure, regulatory frameworks, and digital literacy to empower the youth.
