The National Inland Waterways Authority has banned all unauthorised boat loading points across the country.
The commander of NNS Delta, Abba Muhsin, handed over the items to the anti-graft agency on Tuesday in Warri.
Mr Oyebamiji said, “Preliminary findings by NIWA indicate that the wooden boat was travelling to the Katcha market in Niger State when it suddenly went under due to poor visibility.’’
He emphasised that each agency must be ready to respond quickly to environmental crises.
NIWA advised boat operators to desist from travelling on the inland waterways outside the approved period of 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m
Mr Emmanuel said the agency would continue to synergize with other agencies to secure the waterways.
