The governor said the two existing universities in the state are not enough for the growing number of youths seeking higher education.
The approved programmes are on Accounting, Computer Science, Economics, Home Economics, Arabic Education, English Education, Hausa and Islamic Studies Education.
The programmes were assessed between March and April this year.
The specialist university, aviation minister Hadi Sirika said, would be dedicated to research and development in civil aviation and aerospace technology.

“We viewed any attempt under any guise to further impoverish the living standard of workers and all vulnerable groups in Ekiti state as inhuman and unacceptable.”
Nine of the private universities are located in North Central, three in South South, two in South East, five in the North West and one in South West.
