Mr Lawal said the arrested suspects comprised 406 males and 64 females, aged between 13 and 70 years.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency says it has arrested a 29-year-old male suspect with 7,000 suspected capsules of tramadol.
The NDLEA commander, Mitchell Ofoyeju, disclosed that the illicit consignment was a product of a search operation on containers from Montreal, Canada.
NDLEA commander in Akwa Ibom said that out of the 300 suspects arrested, 249 were male and 51 female and that 61 drug offenders were convicted.
Mr Hamidu said the meeting was a response to the directive of the agency’s chairman.

Mr Oramalugo said operatives intensified surveillance in the state and seized cannabis sativa, donkey skin and other items.
The commander said that the command also made a seizure of 1,289.2 kg of different classes of drugs within the period under review.
