NDLEA chairman Buba Marwa says recent training of the agency’s marine command officers in diving would discourage large shipments of cocaine to Nigeria.
NDLEA says it seized 230,600 pills of 200mg and 225mg of tramadol in Kano.
NDLEA operatives raided the Kubwa area and arrested a 47-year-old and an 18-year-old.
“In his statement, the suspect claimed that he ingested the consignment in Brazil and was to discharge everything at the airport in Addis Ababa.”
NDLEA’s spokesman, Femi Babafemi, stated in Abuja that the former beauty queen escaped from her Lekki, Lagos, residence as operatives were closing in on her.
Operatives arrested 25 youths participating in the competition.
Mr Babafemi added that the two suspected drug paddlers were arrested on Gwagwalada-Abaji Highway in the FCT on Saturday, July 29.
Mr Babafemi stated that the drug was concealed in a pair of black palm sandals packed in luggage en route to Jeddah.
NDLEA’s spokesman, Femi Babafemi, that the septuagenarian was arrested on September 20 at Anguwan Sate in the Mayo Belwa council area of Adamawa.
