The Kogi government on Thursday declared free education for indigenes at primary and secondary school levels.
Mr Areghan said there was the need for Nigerians to believe in the abilities of the examination bodies in the country.
NCEE is for admission into Junior Secondary Schools (JSS 1) of federal unity colleges.
He confirmed that some underage children were found to have sat the 2023 examination, an act which he said was not good for their development.
“We are aware of the fact that examination malpractice could only be reduced but may not be totally eliminated,” she said.
The statement noted that stakeholders requested an extension of the registration period to enable all interested candidates to register.
The plaintiff, Mr Uchenwa, is contending that fixing elections and examinations on Saturdays violates his right to freedom of worship and his right as a citizen.
“We will make all examinations such as WASC, NECO, NABTEB, NBIAS, JAMB, among others, free.”
Mr Inuwa recently defected to PDP after losing his bid to secure the state’s All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket.
The commissioner said government would do everything possible to evolve policies that would provide quality education for the people.
