Mr Kwankwaso has said NDC will decide whether he will be the party’s presidential candidate or a running mate to Peter Obi in the 2027 presidential election.
He said that the party would adopt the consensus mode of election in all wards across the country.
Mr Yusuf cited persistent internal disputes and legal challenges as reasons for his resignation.
“We are impressed by the numerous projects executed by the governor at the local government and state level,” Ms Tarai said.
“We are yet to see politicians who defected to the APC or any other political party in Nigeria at gunpoint, except for their personal convictions and choices,” he said.
Mr Kwankwaso on Saturday declared that he and his supporters were ready to join the ruling All Progressives Congress.
“Any Nigerian entering into any alliance with Kwankwaso and his Kwankwasiya group on the basis of the NNPP will be doing so at their own risk,” said the party chairman.
“But let me take this opportunity to tell you that we have our party, and we are comfortable. We are happy. We are ready to do whatever it takes because we are not in a hurry,” he said.
He described the development as a clear case of injustice, disenfranchisement and electoral manipulation.
