With the current approval, the supplementary appropriation for Sokoto in 2023 now totals N25 billion, including the N21 billion previously approved on August 10.
The national coordinator also commended state governors, the FCT minister and the World Bank for providing support.
The general manager said each of the 518 beneficiaries got a one-off grant of N150,000 from the fund.
“Independent verification exercise is a precondition for the reimbursement of states and the FCT under the programme.
The national coordinator appealed to states and the FCT to use the funds released in line with the financing agreement and the “Funds Release Policy”.
The group accused state governments of slashing the number of beneficiaries of the NG-CARES scheme and the grants from the federal government.
