Mr Wike said he had directed the lawmakers to do the needful and obey the president, saying, “I know they will not hesitate.”
The judge adjourned the case until January 23, 2026, for the hearing of the motion.
“This is the decision of all of us,” said a spokesman for the Rivers assembly.
Mr Diete-Spiff said that Rivers could not afford prolonged political turmoil.
“The Ijaw National Congress respectfully and urgently calls on President Bola Tinubu to act decisively as the father of the nation,” said INC.
“I will advise those 27 lawmakers who initially pledged loyalty to APC to retrace their steps back and come back to PDP fully to develop the party,” he said.
Mr Tinubu noted that the crisis rendered governance impossible in Rivers State.
In March, Mr Tinubu announced the suspension of Mr Fubara, a PDP governor, his deputy Ngozi Odu and Rivers House of Assembly members for a six-month period.
Mr Tinubu did not “push hard enough to bring the matter to a peaceful conclusion,” said Tonye Cole.
