Mr Baamlong said the initiative ended the fragmented approaches to sickle cell care.

Mr Baamlong announced that Plateau Governor Caleb Mutfwang approved the procurement of anti-snake venom for the treatment of snakebite.
He stated that the pharmacy would remain closed pending full compliance with regulatory requirements.
Mr Ba’amlong noted that there had been progress in the prevention of mother-to-child transmission.
The commissioner said the state had made significant progress in the fight against HIV/AIDS, but regretted that the burden of the disease was still great.
Mr Baamlong disclosed this on Thursday in Jos while addressing the press to mark the 2025 World Glaucoma Day.
