The International Press Institute (IPI Nigeria) says Stanley Ugagbe, a journalist with Secret Reporters, has been released from police custody following its intervention.
The Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre said it has dismantled a cross-border fraud syndicate and arrested a fake World Bank official.
“These activities resulted in business email compromise, data breaches, and financial losses across multiple jurisdictions,” the police said.
The Force spokesperson said any candidate who visits the fake websites will definitely have unreliable information.
