A customs and tax expert, Okey Ibeke, says the duties of the Nigeria Customs Service are not only limited to revenue collection but involve highly technical operations.
The Senate will begin a two-day public hearing on the four tax reform bills presented by President Bola Tinubu to improve the nation’s tax administration.
The chairman’s proposed changes to tax administration are about ensuring that every Nigerian has access to the services they deserve and can rely on the system to work for them.
He faulted the concerns raised about the timing and the speed of the bills.
The ex-president said, “Nigerians are united in their call for a fiscal system that promotes justice, fairness, and equity.’’
