Mr Abubakar made the call in a statement on Wednesday by Sambo Junaidu, the chairman, Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, Sultanate Council, Sokoto.
Mr Abubakar announced the sighting of the new crescent in Sokoto on Wednesday in a radio and television broadcast.
The election was conducted in a violence-free atmosphere, we appreciated the Almighty for the current development.
Mr Abubakar made the call on Sunday in Sokoto in a statement by Sambo Junaidu, the chairman, Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs Sultanate Council, Sokoto.
“We should use this period of worship to pray for our leaders, security agencies and the nation to prosper,” Mr Abubakar said on Saturday.
Dhul-Hijjah is the 12th and the last month in the Islamic calendar where the Holy Pilgrimage (Hajj) takes place as well as the festival of sacrifice.
“This is a great opportunity for all of us to ensure the best living conditions and to live peacefully with one another.”
“We urge you all to abide with the teachings and the principles of Ramadan in your daily activities.”
The 2022 Ramadan will begin on April 2.
